Name: Tina (Morton) Easley


I am trying to find my g-great grandfather's family Shelburn Hendrix Morton.
All I know is his mother was Abbie they lived in Butler Co. Missouri
in 1880 and moved to Greene Co. Arkansas in 1920.
I have not been able to make any connections,
they were both born in Indiana and says his father came from Ky.

S.H. Morton's father was George W. Morton he went by G.W. he died in Dec. 31
1900 and was buried in 1901 at the family cemetery Morton Lambert Cemetery
which I am still trying to find. He had a daughter Millie E.Morton an S. H.
(my great grandfather) Millie was married the first time to Thomas J. Stone
and married a Ham the second she had two daughters one from each husband. I
will post the names and dates of marriages and etc.. on my homepage when I
have time.

Last place known to live was Pueblo, CO. early 1900s

So far, I have found very few people connected
to this line of Mortons.  I have also seen the name spelled Mourton, so I
am researching that also.  Maybe someday.  They had to come from somewhere.

Here's some information about my Morton's.  I am stumped on GW and his wife
Arrena.  Have been unable to find out anything about their parents.  Hoping
this helps.  I have quite a lot of information on GW's children and on down.

I have since the first post found out a lot of new information on my Morton Line.
I descend through Marshall Morton>Nelly Morton Joel Jackson Morton SR,
wife Cynthia Ann Langley married Frosyth GA in 1847 >
to Joel Jackson Morton Jr, Wife Laura Ann Spears, >Maudie Alice Morton >Charles William Ussrey> to myself.
I have contacted several new cousins and have quite a data base on this line and
Joel Sr brother Henry which also married a Rebecca Langley a sister to my Cynthia.

These famulies are found on the Guion Miller Application Rolls of the Cherokee tribe.
If you feel you may connect please feel free to let me know and I am willing to trade info.

I am searching a Morton line.
My paternal grandmother was Maudie Alice Morton.
Her father was Joel Jackson Morton, her mother was Laura Spears.
Joel's father was Joel S. Morton. I don't know any of the brothers or sisters of
Joel J. or Joel S. Morton's line.
I did find all the brothers and sisters of my grandmother on the rolls.
I have found several other Morton families but
haven't been able to put them together, as yet.

Before he came to Texas,he was from Zellville, Florida.
I know he had brothers that might still be alive and
they all owned orange groves in Florida.
