Angela
My father was Daniel Morton born 1937 In Birkenhead Liverpool England,
but emigrated to New Zealand in about 1965.
His Father was Robert Morton born in 1900 also in Birkenhead England
(He had 7 children whose familys mostly stayed in Liverpool
or emigrated to New Zealand and Australia) br>
My father tried over many years to find out information
about his family roots from his grandfather back,
who was Michael Morton born 1858 to 1861.
Family history says it was in Maine but could possibly be Ireland or anywhere.
His father was also rumoured to be Michael Morton
(possibly both michaels having middle names of joseph)
He is listed in the census of 1901 as having American citizenship
and I believe he was a sailor, he married Ann Jane Robinson or Robision
about 1888 in Liverpool and died in 1916 when my grandfather was 16.

Stephen Morton
My name is Stephen Morton from Leeds, England,
UK.
I cant find much on my ancestors. My grandfather
who died 3 years ago,
aged 92 or 96 i cant quite remember his age,
was orphaned when he was very young probably in
the
north east of England around the Durham area.
He had two sons one my father Brian Morton and
his other son Alan Morton.
My father has got two sons as well me and my
brother Anthony Morton,
I am 42 and my brother is 44 neither of us as got
any sons
only daughters so it looks like the end of the
Morton name
in our family unless I can get my daughter to
keep it in her name.
My brother has 3 girls and I have one.
Having no information to go on i cant find
anything on
our family tree apart from recent family and
no one can help on my grandfathers father or
mother
but I am led to believe that he did have other
members
of his family when he was young.
If you know anyone who can help I would love to
find out.
Many thanks,
email Stephen Morton
