My G-Grandfather was Fredrick Alvin Morton, born in Iowa in 1860.
His mother was Juletta Weeks but that is all I have there.
Fredrick married Maggie Davis in Phillips County Kansas in 1880.
He is listed as the town blacksmith in Timnath Colorado in 1910.
If anyone can connect my G-grandfather to other Mortons,
I would greatly appreciate it.

I am researching a Morton--Cherokee woman marriage that took place circa
1890 and resulting in at least one child---a daughter. She was probably
born around 1899 and she in turn married and had a daughter circa 1924.
This daughter had a daughter circa 1949 and she married a man with the
surname Strawbridge------also spelled Strowbridge by other of this
families' members.

At some point after the Morton marriage one of the daughters married a
black man....I am doing a genealogical search of this family for a
decendent of the Morton mariage. This fellow is a black man, so i am
searching for an interracial marriage and also at some point <probably
circa 1900> the family was living in or near Charlotte Courthouse, Va., and
or Glasgow, Virginia.

Any help much appreciated.

Amy

I am looking for researchers of the Samuel Martin and
Eleanor "Nellie" Morton family line.
Their son, Joel Jackson Morton, Sr. married Cynthia Ann Langley
(she later married a Whittington).
Their son, Joel Jackson Morton, Jr. married Cindy "Cinda" Helms.
As far as I know, they only had one child, a daughter -
Hester Ann "Hettie" Morton that married Thomas Jefferson Welch, Jr.

Joel Jr. then later married Laura Ann Spears after Cindy's death.

Joel Jr. and Cindy were my great great grandparents.
Hester Ann "Hettie" Morton and Thomas J. Welch, Jr. were my great grandparents.
Mary "Marie" Rose Welch and Dillon Levi Brown were my grandparents.

I have much on this family and am hoping to find more
and to share with others that are of this family line.

You may email me at - amy.sosa@verizon.net

Married 1st to HENRY H. THRAI(L)KILL 25 May 1864.

I found her with her husband JAMES A.BROWN

I know they had 5 children: James Walter,
Elizabeth, Lula Malinda, Lee Anna and Izony.
On the 1870 census a few houses down the way
was a family group of SAMUEL and RACHEL MORTON.
Possibly a brother???

They moved at some point to MORGAN CO. AL.
Her gravetone gives dob 7 July 1841.
Her death cert. states her father was JAKE MORTON.
Any info would be helpful.
I would be glad to supply my line if there is a connection.
