World extends our thoughts and prayers
to the victims and their family and friends
of
September 11, 2001.
They struck America, but attacked the world.
A day in America that will never be forgotten.
A day full of loss of life and feeling secure,
shock and mourning for our people.
It is a sad state other nations are in when
some of their people rejoice in the streets
because America has been attacked.
Yet, might not this be the very ones
who would expect help from others?
It is a strange god indeed they worship
that would condone such actions.
I
am proud I have lived in a Country
that has offered me and countless others
the choice to worship. I am proud to be
among those who have been saddened
at the loss of lives in other countries
whether it be from natural disasters
or of their own making in feuding
and fighting among their own people.
But,
I am most proud of the fact
that I will not be among the people
rejoicing in the streets over the loss
of another nation's innocent people!
We mourn for our United States of America,
her people and those of other nations
who died today and in the days to come,
those left behind to mourn and
for all who have lost their life
trying to rescue others.
Our mourning does not makes us weaker
it strengthens our resolve to have freedom for
everyone.
It is that freedom that allowed visitors from
other nations,
so we must mourn the loss of innocent visitors
lives as well.

Thoughts
by Sarah Stemen
There
are a lot of things going around on the internet
in response to the tragic events of Sept. 11.
Some
of them are intended to incite hatred and
bitterness.
I
hope that you, as I, will not pass these on.
It was bitterness and hate that caused these
unthinkable acts
and bitterness and hate will not produce anything
but evil.
Instead let us focus our thoughts and energy
toward seeking justice
and pray for our leaders
--in our country and around the world--
that the decisions they make WILL bring
to an end the powers that caused these events.
May
God be with you and yours.
